Netflix doesn't muck about regarding what they want you to do if your subscription has lapsed. Netflix doesn't get many opportunities to express a voice within the interface, as at the end of the day the web app is essentially a remote control. So I quite liked how they used my name from my account details on the top left button encouraging users to restart their subscription. Attention-grabbing without being intrusive, and it conveys some warmth and friendliness without jamming some "emotional language" into the conversation.
