I can’t do any cool unique celebratory whistles so I have to content myself with clapping and the occasional “whoooo!” as a show of appreciation. Here are seven things that are better when people clap at the end:
1) Opening night film screenings
I find few things as delightful as clapping after a movie when no one who worked on the movie is even in attendance.
2) Impassioned rants over happy hour drinks
When someone makes a great point I like to do one hard clap, double eyebrow raise, finger point, and a loud YES! All together, like so:👏🏻😯👈🏻YES‼️
3) Flights
I used to be a lot more afraid of flying but now I kind of crave turbulence and rough landings. HELP ME FEEL SOMETHING.
4) Sex
Something to aspire to, anyway.
5) Songs
A concert pet peeve: when the moody opening band (whose songs we don’t know) rolls from one song right into another into another and it’s never clear when to clap.
6) Dance moves
And sliiiiiiide to the right.
7) Injury timeouts
Hooray, the unpaid collegiate bloodsport athlete is not dead!
